Awhile ago Majofa made a good post in Nerf/Buff over at elementscommunitytl;dr have Photon generate on play The only downside is that it violates a basic idea in openEtG: Unupgraded cards never generate quanta on the first turn My opinion is that Nova has not been too impacted by this; CG disagrees, but whatever, he's not posting this thread The card which has been wrecked by this no-T1-plays concept is Immolation. Immolation may currently only be viable in Fractix. It's kind of dumb for an unupgraded card to only work once one's at least semi upped Also SoBr. But I'm pretty sure turn-late nerfed-SoBr immorush isn't anything to write home about Also rico. But we're not talking about cheesy combos Should Immo/Cremation give 9 quanta? I'll get back on topic: If we were to implement majofa's suggestion & let humble Photon be the one card that breaks the no-T1-plays rule, it'd enable Immo decks to have T1 plays. Other option is to say "1 cost immo was a mistake" & make it free. Which isn't a mutually exclusive option Side note: should producing Photon count towards Hope? Buffed Photon would open up potential for free-skelly since Skelly-RT is about same strength (weaker) as Photon-Mutate & with Fate Egg buffs Free-Skelly-RT isn't actually better than plain Fate Egg

Fippe (at least a month ago) and I also don't know why you thought in the turn 1 quanta thing. Let the players have Nova and immo, why not.

1 cost Nova is not a mistake. Immo being free in this discussion is not a discussion about Nova being free That said, will take that as a vote towards making immo free. No reason to buff Photon to allow ImmoPhoton but not ImmoSpark Alternatively there very well might be a high enough pay out for Immo to be generally viable at 1 cost Here's the idea behind no-T1-plays: if a quanta engine allows T1 plays it is categorically either OP or nearly _exclusively_ useful in a rush. This is because for a T1 quanta engine to be balanced it has to not enable a rush be a full turn faster. But such a quanta engine will be lackluster in anything besides getting a slight head start in an attempt to maintain said T1 lead edit Immo has been reverted to Original behavior, Photon generates 1 on play
